Week 1 Lab 1

Map 1:
Map of Alcohol Consumption 15+
This map shows how much people 15+ drink on average. In European countries where the legal age for alcohol consumption is 16, they have a higher rate of consumption. Countries like United States, are not as high. It's interesting to see that the United States which has a culture so rampant about alcohol, is not the top consumer. But rather European and Asian countries are.

Map 2:
Mcdonald's Map that Professor Sheng went over today during lecture. It's really interesting because this is a map of Mcdonald's locations. This reveals how many McDonald's there are in a location, which also indirectly tells us which states have higher rates of diet related diseases like obesity and diabetes. Because there is more access to the restaurants, there is a higher chance more people will eat there more frequently. We can see that in the southern areas, there is a higher concentration of mcdonald's. These are also the areas where obesity and diabetes are high.

Map 3:
Map of Disney World
I chose this map because first of all, it's Disney World, one of the best amusement parks on earth. But I also chose this because it's relative ease to use. By using this map, even little kids can find where things are with ease. By using landmarks like hard to miss rides and stands rather than word for word directions, this map makes it so easy to navigate the park. Most of all, it's easy and fun to look at. Even though it's an enormous park, the map makes it so convenient and easy to move around
